Our first project with Lidar was in 2010 with the Optech Ilris Landmark system, we were fortunate enough to be able to use this to survey an iceberg in 2012 with the BBC in Greenland. Lidar systems are an excellent method for surveying drying areas from a vessel or structures on the foreshore in hard to reach areas.
We have since gained valuable experience with Velodyne, Topcon and Geoslam products in a range of environments and often to very strict vertical and horizontal requirements such as on the Thames Tideway Tunnel river monitoring surveys we were involved with working with the Port of London Authority utilising our experience to deliver quarterly data sets within the tight specification required to allow construction to continue on the project.
